Sultan Korkut ( 1467-1513) Son of Bayezid II, and the elder brother of Selim I. he was a poet, instrumentalist, composer and also a supporter of fine arts and sciences. He is said to have designed a musical instrument called "gida-i ruh" ar "ruh-efza". Some eight compositions on the repertoire have been attributed to Prince Korkut.
