Tarik Kip was born in 1927 in the city of Samsun. Between 1940 and 1956, both studying and working at the same time, he occupied himself with music when he could find the time. He worked with kânun and ud for a period, and worked as an instrumentalist on different radio stations. His compositions are few but of high quality. He died in 2000.
