Kemani Tatyos Efendi was born in 1858 in Ortaköy, Istanbul. His real name was Tateos Enkserciyan; he was the son of Monakyan, of the musical scholars at the Ortaköy Armenian church. For many years, he directed fas?l ensembles at nightclubs. The pieces he contributed to the body of Turkish music are comprised of eight pe?revs, six saz semâisis, one beste, and forty six şarkıs composed in various makams and usuls. He died in 1913. |
